NOW Foods Double Strength DHA-500 Fish Oil is a concentrated omega-3 supplement formulated to support normal brain function, cognitive wellness and cardiovascular health.

Each enteric-coated softgel provides 1,000mg of fish oil concentrate, including 500mg of DHA and 250mg of EPA.

DHA, or docosahexaenoic acid, is an important omega-3 fatty acid found in cellular membranes, particularly within the brain and eyes. It provides nutritional support for normal brain-cell structure, cognitive function and visual health.

EPA, or eicosapentaenoic acid, complements DHA and supports normal cardiovascular function and overall cellular wellness.

This Double Strength formula supplies twice the DHA found in NOW Foods’ separate regular-strength DHA-250 product, which provides 250mg of DHA per softgel.

The fish oil concentrate is molecularly distilled and manufactured under strict quality-control standards. It is tested for potentially harmful levels of mercury, PCBs, dioxins and other heavy metals.

The softgels feature an enteric coating designed to delay release until after they pass through the stomach. This odor-controlled format may be easier to tolerate for people who experience a fishy aftertaste, nausea or reflux from regular fish-oil softgels.

The manufacturer recommends taking one softgel one to two times daily with food. The 90-softgel bottle provides approximately a 45- to 90-day supply.

This product contains fish and bovine gelatin. It is not suitable for vegetarian or vegan users.

Suggested use

Take 1 softgel 1 to 2 times daily with food.

Taking the softgel with a meal containing some dietary fat may support omega-3 absorption and improve digestive comfort.
