NOW Foods Double Strength Milk Thistle Extract 300mg is a standardized herbal supplement formulated to support normal liver function, antioxidant protection and the body’s natural detoxification processes.
Milk thistle, scientifically known as Silybum marianum, has been used by traditional herbalists for centuries. Its primary naturally occurring constituents are a group of flavonoids collectively known as silymarin.
Each vegetarian capsule provides 300mg of Milk Thistle Extract, standardized to supply 240mg of silymarin flavonoids. This represents an extract standardized to approximately 80% silymarin.
This Double Strength formula provides twice the milk thistle extract found in NOW Foods’ separate regular-strength 150mg product.
The formula also contains 100mg of dandelion root and 50mg of artichoke leaf. These complementary botanicals are traditionally used in herbal formulas designed for normal liver, digestive and bile-flow support.
Silymarin provides antioxidant activity that supports the liver’s natural cellular defenses against free radicals and everyday oxidative stress.
The manufacturer recommends taking one capsule one to three times daily. The 100-capsule bottle provides approximately 33 to 100 days of use depending on the selected daily dosage.
